KidLibCamp 2009

Darien Library

Thursday, August 13, 9AM to 4PM

KidLibCamp 2009 is a place for youth services librarians to get together and talk about topics that are important to serving children in school and public libraries.  KidLibCamp is an unconference that asks participants to share their work, skills, or knowledge as active participants. Unlike more traditional conferences, KidLibCamp will be highly participatory. Sessions will be determined the day of the KidLibCamp by those in attendance. Sessions may include (but are not limited to):

  • Digital storytelling
  • Planning children's services of the future
  • Collaboration in children's services
  • Integrating technology into day-to-day programs and services
  • Using social networking to connect with children and their families
  • Using social networking to connect with teachers and youth serving agencies
  • Audio and video in children's services

The program and topics for the day will be determined during the opening session and a closing session will give session leaders a chance to summarize topics covered throughout the day.  This wiki will also host notes from all of the sessions as well as follow-up information generated by topics discussed during the day.

You can register for the KidLibCamp on the Sign-Up page.

Directions to the Darien Library are available on the Library web site.

The camp is free and lunch will be provided by Darien Library.
